| “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27 In this verse, Jesus is speaking, talking about the Holy Spirit. How the Father sent the Holy Spirit in Jesus name, and that is the peace He left for us. He dwells within us, what a miracle! It is not like the false sense of peace the enemy tries to offer, but true contentment within our spirits and souls. He really does love us and care for us deeply. Like that old song, “He’s got the whole world in His hands.” He really does! This past weekend, the icy conditions of the weather caused us to cancel service, as many other churches and businesses did. There was a lot of talk about how awful the conditions were going to be; people used words like “catastrophic.” Making it out to be a lot worse than it actually ended up being. Many people went into a panic and bought many gallons of milk and many loaves of bread for some reason. Others got what was necessary and prepared for what could happen, but did not let that steal their joy. But even if the conditions were as bad as the people in the news made them out to be, Jesus is still our peace in the storm. God took care of everyone, even in the inconvenience. He left His peace with us; what do we have to fear? With that, we are so glad to announce we will be gathering back for church this Sunday at 10:30 AM! We look forward to seeing you there!
