  • Fellowship!

    Fellowship!

One of the best things about going to a physical church is the fellowship. If you are in a large church, this is probably best found in a small group. If you are in a small church, you can get the joy of fellowship even on a Sunday as you have time in a relaxed atmosphere to share life.

Hebrews 10:25 says, “Let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, NOT forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another and so much more as you see the Day approaching” The Day referenced here is the day of Jesus’s return. And it is significantly closer than it was back when this passage was written. And today, with services streamed online, the temptation to just stay home in your pajamas and still check off the church box is very real. But that misses the best part….fellowship. We were created to be together. Even God said, it is NOT good for man to be alone in Genesis. God Himself is in constant community in the Trinity.

James 5:16 cuts to the heart of small community fellowship, “Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed.” Bringing our sins out into the light around like minded believers who open up on their sins, brings incredible healing. The devil’s only tool is shame and guilt. What you keep hidden allows him to keep you in bondage to shame and guilt. But once it is in the light, he has no where to go…your confession and then the prayer of the fellowship cast out any stronghold that the unrepentant sin had…the devil has to go elsewhere, he has no more power in that situation. A small community like that, open and confessing and praying for each other is rare, but precious. It is NEEDED in this time and the time that is to come. And you absolutely can NOT get that isolated at home watching a sermon.

Maybe you had bad experiences with churches, I get it. But just remember, they are filled with imperfect people. No church is perfect, but the gathering together of the saints should never be forsaken. The original church met together every day and even broke bread together and THAT IS WHAT WE ARE GOING TO DO THIS WEEK. This Sunday is our Fellowship Sunday. After the service we will head to Chili’s for a free meal, fellowship, and even prizes and games orchestrated by Miss Donna and Stephanie. You won’t want to miss it. Come this Sunday for a great message, great fellowship and a free meal afterward-you can’t beat it! I hope to see you there…

  • Seek First The Kingdom

    Seek First The Kingdom

Last week I preached on money and shared the rules of money-it is likely you never heard
money preached quite that way…You should check it out here if you have not seen it:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rayOkY7HqM

In that sermon, I shared the first rule of money which is Matthew 6:33: “seek first the kingdom of God and all these things will be added unto you.” You may say that does not sound like something I heard before in any managing money seminar. And that is likely true. But any discussion about money that does not bring God into it first, is a worldly discussion that is missing the biggest point. It is ALL about God, not all about us. We MUST learn how to seek Him first in everything we do. In relationships, in our work, with our kids and yes, with our money. Putting God first is the key to everything. Intellectually, most Christians would agree with that but the problem is putting it into practice in a world that is constantly fighting against that very thing. What does it really look like to put God first in EVERYTHING.

That will be the subject of our sermon this upcoming Sunday. I would love to see you there. It is a message that is generically acknowledged, but rarely actually preached into practice. This Sunday we will try to make it real in practice. My goal is to have you walking out of there with a plan to start putting God first in real time, in real life, and start building up the strength to be a soldier of God in the times to come. Jesus is coming soon-time to get battle ready. Strengthen your walk with the Lord and you will be strengthened! It’s as simple as that. Being a truly devoted follower of Christ is EASIER then going the way of the world. Christ calls us to simplicity, we make it hard. So let’s find out how to put Him first and start the road to the “easy yoke” living Jesus talks about. Come out this Sunday, 10:30 AM at 900 Cripple Creek Road, Lawrenceville GA or check us out on our YouTube channel, stream it live, @TheGreatAwarenessChurch. It is going to be a greatday in the Lord!!!!

  • Beware of The Rabbit Holes

    Beware of The Rabbit Holes

Where do you turn to when you are met with disappointment, hurt, or discouragement? Where we turn is VERY important. In days gone by, when close family units existed, you may go to the seasoned grandfather. Or maybe a very close friend. But that does involve a little perceived risk, what if they judge you?

I can attest, the best place to go is to God…I go first to God’s Word, His Bible, and to prayer. He cares about me and HE IS TRUTH. I can get real answers that are time honored. Unfortunately, there is another option that is easy, has no judgement associated with it, and is just a button away-the internet. And the problem with the internet is the
algorithms…if you go online and share a hurt, all the other people venting online willshow up in your feeds, etc. This past Sunday we baptized my daughter Caitlyn, and she gave her testimony and she said something that was incredibly profound, “All my negative feelings got validated and celebrated” Wow, that’s deep. So deep!

She was mad at God because prayers of her mom and I reconciling weren’t getting answered, and she shared her discouragement online, and bam…it took her down a rabbit hole. Eventually rejecting God, her family, and me. But God DID move and brought her back and now her testimony can have an impact for God. She is NOT alone, this is what happens when you go to the internet instead of God’s word to air your fears,
discouragement or pain. Go online and post that you are upset with your spouse and inside of a few days the internet will have you believing they are a narcissist. That is how it happens. It’s true. And because you keep getting fed it, you begin to assume that it’s normal, it is just the way it is, that everyone is that way. This led to another amazing statement from Caitlyn’s testimony, “I found comfort in the misery, and that kind of keeps you there”. Seriously, she should be a writer! But that is the trap of the internet-it keeps feeding you this thing until it becomes normal, comfortable. The angst and anger are normal. Celebrated, validated. Check out her testimony here:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X0ywlkDnqfc&t=102s

I am so proud of her and so thankful that God brought her back. So where do you go when life hits you hard? I beg you, don’t go to the internet for answers. Go to God’s Word. Seek His face…He loves you and He cares about you and it IS the safest place to go. Beware of the rabbit holes, instead, go to God. Be blessed!

  • It Is Finished!

    It Is Finished!

As Jesus took His last breath on the cross, He said, “It is Finished” John 19:30

Not, I am finished. Not, I still have more to do…but it is finished. What was finished? The redemption of mankind. The forgiveness of sins, once and for all. It was a victorious statement, a statement of completeness. Our sins do not have to condemn us to hell forever, there is now a way, the only way, to enjoy eternal life in heaven. This Sunday, we will celebrate that victory-He rose again, the only religion with an empty tomb. Praise God!!!

But many Christians live as if the work isn’t done. That they still need to “clean up” to deserve heaven. That somehow, God can not really love them as they are, but is disappointed in them. I know, I felt that way for a long time. But God is NOT disappointed in you no matter what you have done…He loves you. My kids don’t always make good choices, but there is NOTHING they can do that will cause me not to love them. Jesus washed you clean. When God looks down from heaven, He sees the Son’s blood covering you-you are clean as the finest white linen. He looks at you and He sees the Son! And He smiles.

If you still feel that way, that somehow deep down, you are still not enough. I want you to Google, “God’s words of praise toward me”. Start writing them down, put them on a postcard, pin it to your mirror and every morning and night as you brush your teeth repeat them over and over again until you get it. You are loved, by the Creator of The Universe, JUST AS YOU ARE! Praise the Lord! Your sins are forgiven if you have asked Jesus into your heart. Jesus loves you, and there is nothing you can do about it! Thank Him today, for that amazing love.

  • It’s Simple Really…

    It’s Simple Really…

Psalm 1:1-3: “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful, but his delight is in the law of the Lord and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.”

Most people, if asked the question, “do you want to be successful in life” would answer yes to that question. Of course you want a successful life-however you define that. The Bible is clear, not just in the passage above but all throughout, that
reading the Bible, meditating on it, listening to it’s instruction and applying it, leads to a successful life. Jesus said, “if you love me, you will obey my commandments” John 14:15. That is Jesus, New Testament, not just Old Testament.

So the question today is, have you read your Bible today? Meditated on it, thought about what it was saying and applied it? The Bible is God’s main way of communicating with you specifically to help you and guide you. Prayer is important, but God will SPEAK to you in His Word. The life that pleases God is
NOT a set of religious duties, but to hear His voice and obey His word. Period. You can’t do that if you don’t read his word. So, do you want success? Get back to that Bible. True success depends on it. Get reading today!!!!

  • God Is Moving

    God Is Moving

Last weekend was a great weekend for our church! And it all starts with simply obeying God. Last week God told me to go and witness on St. Patrick’s day, and Saturday was a street party in downtown Lawrenceville for St. Patrick’s day and so I spent a couple of hours down there just talking to people about Jesus and our church. Sunday, we had 9 new visitors! 2 for sure will become members as they were currently without a church home and felt the love that is present at our little church. They joined us for the fellowship lunch afterward and it was a wonderful time.

Stephanie and Donna did a great job with our fellowship lunch and it is a blessing as a pastor to see everyone getting involved. Our outreach team also went out to the streets Sunday after that luncheon to just sing songs in the city square and talk to people about Jesus. And Sunday night we wrapped up our first small group, and planned the launching of 2 small groups in April. We are a small church, just 6 months old, but God is moving! The people have begun to tithe and I was able to give away $3000 to local ministries this week, one that works to stop human trafficking which is big in Atlanta, and the other is a ministry for drug and alcohol rehab. The local church should be reaching, serving and giving into the local community and ministries and we are doing that. The key to it all, is God. If we obey God, He takes care of the results. It is CRITICAL then that you step out and obey God, move in trust, not fear, and do what God tells you to do. If you do, the results are up to Him. He told me to start a church, I did it. We are seeing amazing fruit-that fruit is all God!!!! If we step out and obey, He will work amazing things.

What is God telling you to do this week? What is holding you back? I encourage you to move through any fear you have and obey God, the results will be worth it. This weekend, we will have a special guest pastor who has spoken to our church before, Glenn from Across the Bridge will bring an awesome message. You don’t want to miss it. If you missed last week’s sermon on trust vs. fear, check it out at our Youtube channel and we hope to see you this Sunday at 10:30. God is on the move! Come be part of the fun!!!!

  • Layers of Understanding

    Layers of Understanding

There are layers to our understanding of things; there are the things we think and see, oftentimes, there is what is really going on behind the scenes, and always, there is the spiritual aspect. Seeing the spiritual aspect usually comes about from time in God’s word and revelation from the Lord Himself. For example, the attack on Iran.

On the first level, there is the reason we were told: regime change, making sure no nukes, freeing the Iranian people. But I believe Trump is acting on a much smarter strategic level. If you want to have America still dominant in 100 years, the only real threat to that is China. How do you stop a country without firing a shot, take down their energy? China, because of its large investments in Venezuela and Iran were able to buy its oil very cheaply. By taking down Venezuela and now attacking Iran and closing the Strait of Hormuz, Trump has limited them to Russian oil and the open market. To buy oil on the open market, they must convert their currency to dollars and buy the oil that way. Essentially, increasing the cost 10 times for their energy supply and putting them at the mercy of the US. Pretty smart. But then there is the spiritual level. In 2022, right after Russia attacked Ukraine, I did a podcast based on a vision God had shown me and predicted that WW3 had started, the battle between Russia and Ukraine would not end quickly which was everyone’s prediction, and that China, Iran and Russia would team up (2 weeks ago these three were running military operations in the Strait of Hormuz). Essentially, all of those predictions have happened. The boldest prediction, though, was that the tribulation period would start in the second half of 2026. In January, that seemed unlikely. But in just 2 months, Trump has made moves that not only make it look possible, but they may be the most likely outcome. I explain all this in my recent video; you can listen to it here…

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdu12w4eKgI&t=270s

Our Spiritual growth also has layers. You study a certain Scripture one year, then you grow, and a few years later, you read the same Scripture, and it means something totally different. There are layers to Scripture, to God’s heart, and to our walk. This Sunday, we will be talking about the difference between Faith and Trust. Faith is a greatstarting point, believing without seeing, that’s good. But Trust is the next level or layer. Faith gets you in the boat-Trust gets you out on the water like Peter. Trust is faith put into action. Many people believe God can do anything, but do you trust Him? Trust is the difference between believing anything is possible and DOING the impossible. I hope you guys can make it this Sunday, 10:30 AM, at 900 Cripple Creek Dr., Lawrenceville, or online on our YouTube channel @TheGreatAwarenessChurch. It will be a very powerful message. Talk to you then!!!

  • Spirits of Discouragement

    Spirits of Discouragement

When most people think of Spiritual warfare, they think of demons, angels, and the Holy Spirit. And these things do exist and are very real. But there are also spirits, not demons, but spirits that can attack you, and we often don’t realize that we are under spiritual attack because these spirits are so subtle. Today, I want to talk about the spirit of discouragement.

Have you ever been discouraged? Oftentimes, if you take a step back, it doesn’t even make
sense…like things are going well and all of a sudden, you feel discouraged. Yesterday I was discouraged, and really, there was no reason for it. I am having a big closing week at work-so making money. My church just had its biggest day with 30 live visitors and over 20 watching the live feed. I am healthy, my kids are good, like, I am having a really good week. And then I got discouraged. Has that ever happened to you? You’re not crazy; you are under spiritual attack. It’s not a demon; it’s more subtle, it is likely the spirits of discouragement. They are like minions, ants, bothering you and making you feel discouraged for no real reason. John talks about spirits in 1 John 4:1, where he says, “Beloved, do not believe every spirit but test the spirits whether they are of God.”

God does not give us a “spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind”. When you are discouraged, the spirits of discouragement are focusing you away from God. Away from His truth. AND THE ANTIDOTE TO DISCOURAGEMENT IS PRAISE! If you start feeling discouraged, don’t turn to drugs or alcohol or retreat into sadness; start praising! Start thanking God for all the things in your life…your health, your eyes, your friends, those you love, this life, the weather. The truth is, the spirits of discouragement are hitting you when most things are good in your life. It is crazy, really. But praise literally chases them off. Like insect repellent, it sends them away. So the moment you start feeling discouraged, stop! And start thinking about all that is right and praise the Lord for all of it. After you are done praising God, those spirits will go away! Then put on a praise song and start singing for joy-the Lord is GOOD! Praise chases away the spirits of discouragement. Get praising the Lord today!

  • A Note From My Morning Quiet Time

A Note From My Morning Quiet Time

I get up at 4:00 AM every day to spend a couple of hours in quiet time with the Lord. It is ALWAYS the best part of my day. I will be talking about the nuances of that this Sunday at church and how to put guardrails on your life to stay on the path God has for YOU! Part of my morning is a daily devotional from Oswald Chambers called, “My Utmost For His Highest”. It is excellent and I truly recommend it.

While reading today’s devotional for Feb 18, God spoke to my heart and said make this your weekly tip. So, below is the Feb 18th message from Utmost by Oswald Chambers. Someone reading this, this message is for you. God loves you, and He wants you to know what follows…

Feb 18 Taking the initiative against despair.
“Rise, let us be going.” Matthew 26:46

In the Garden of Gethsemane, the disciples went to sleep when they should have stayed awake, and once they realized what they had done, it produced despair. The sense of doing something irreversible tends to make us despair. We say, “Well, it’s all over and ruined now, what’s the point in trying anymore.” If we think this kind of despair is an exception, we are mistaken. It is a very ordinary human experience. Whenever we realize we have not taken advantage of a magnificent opportunity, we are apt to sink into despair. But Jesus comes and lovingly says to us, in essence, “Sleep on now. That opportunity is lost forever and you can’t change that. But get up, and let’s go on to the next thing.” In other words, let the past sleep, but let it sleep in the sweet embrace of Christ, and let us go on into the invincible future with Him.

There will be experiences like this in each of our lives. We will have times of despair caused by real events in our lives, and we will be unable to lift ourselves out of them. The disciples, in this instance, had done a downright unthinkable thing-they had gone to sleep instead of watching with Jesus. But our Lord came to them taking the spiritual initiative against their despair and said, in effect, “Get up, and do the next thing.” If we are inspired by God, what is the next thing? It is to trust Him absolutely and to pray on the basis of His redemption. Never let the sense of past failure defeat your next step.

  • There’s A Place for Your Voice

There’s A Place for Your Voice

20 years ago, God began preparing me for a special calling. But I didn’t recognize His hand until one Sunday service. I was sitting in the evening service with a friend as doubts swirled in my mind. A few months before, I’d felt God clearly prompting me to find my own church, but I kept hitting roadblocks. I broke down when I couldn’t get the guy I thought was going to do the internet, I couldn’t find a music guy, and I was supposed to start the church in a month. I had nothing.

My friend invited me to the service, and there God spoke to me through the pastor.
Two-thirds of the way through his sermon, he pointed at me, asked my name and said, “I see that God’s been pouring into you for 20 years now. There is a place for your voice.”
In 2005, I became licensed to preach, but by 2025, I was still working as a CEO in the corporate world, specializing in commercial and business loans. No door had ever opened for me to preach.

But early in 2025, I received an invitation to a pastor’s conference. Since that work week was slow, I decided to go. There, God changed the trajectory of my life. I caught a vision there. God shared with me that I needed to start a church. While at the conference, I called a friend with Across the Bridge, a Lawrenceville rehabilitation ministry where I serve as a board member.

I said, “What do you do with your facility on Sunday mornings?” He goes, “Nothing. Why? Do you want to start a church?”

This conversation further emphasized God’s hand on the church’s founding, but I still encountered trial after trial as I searched for people to help him build the church from the ground up. Yet, God was there every step of the way. In August of 2025, The Great Awareness Church in Lawrenceville officially opened. Praise God!

The vision is to raise awareness of Jesus’ imminent return and to offer hope to suffering families through outreach opportunities. For years, I have prioritized community outreach by building an orphanage in Haiti, supporting orphans and widows and serving on boards such as the Community Foundation for Northeast Georgia and Across the Bridge. Now I’m grateful to work alongside this church family to meet community needs.

I believe the Church should be working actively in the local community, so our goal is to do outreach every month and be heavily involved in our local Lawrenceville community.

In this season of ministry, my passion for awareness is stronger than ever, especially in light of recent global events — from the United States’ intervention in Venezuela to protests in Iran to conflict in Israel and Ukraine. God shared a vision with me to prepare the Bride for the coming of the King, so my goal is to get everyone ready by getting them back into a good relationship with Jesus.

I’m inspired by the rebuilding of Jerusalem’s walls in Nehemiah. When Nehemiah was building the wall, he told the Israelites, “You have to secure the wall in front of your house.” We have to go to the people we love and start there. Every church should focus not just on members but on the members’ families.

I can’t fix Iran, but we can reach out to the people around us, the people in our families. We have to start at home, and if every person who calls themselves a Christian would evangelize in just their spheres of influence, we could have a whole country turned to Jesus! I know firsthand that God’s call to evangelize, even in our families and communities, can be scary, but I feel called to encourage and challenge the Great Awareness family to push through the fear. If someone is on a journey that God told them to do, there’s going to be doubts, but if we can encourage them, it’s the best thing we can do.

    Have a blessed week!
