| I have a core group of guys that I have been friends with since high school-over 40 years now. Two of them are Jewish, but the other four have been growing their faith in Jesus. It has only been the last few years for a couple of them, but they are all growing. It is neat to see. My friend Jeff is one of those guys. Jeff is a simple man, much like the Lynyrd Skynyrd song. He is a handyman who loves to fish and just live life with his girlfriend. Very easy to get along with, and has had quite a few friends over the years. Just a good guy, not sure there is anyone out there who doesn’t like him. Yesterday he posted a video which was the acceptance speech by Jelly Roll at the Dove Awards and put in the caption, “loving me some Jelly Roll right now”. I listened to the speech and it was challenging people to reach out to the “least of these” because the reason he is there is because people reached out to him when he was the least of these. It is from the book of Matthew and ironically, I am preaching from that this week. I don’t know Jelly Roll personally, I don’t know much about him. But his speech, what I heard, was a good gospel message. It’s a good challenge to Christians. So why do I share this? Because Jeff has friends that I as a pastor will never reach, and so do you. And Jelly Roll has a platform that is much bigger than any platform I am likely to have, so we ALL have a part to play. Time is running short, Jesus is coming soon. It is time for every Christian to do their part-right where they are-right where God has placed them. When you hear a great message, see a powerful reel, re-post it. Share it with your friends, don’t keep it to yourself. In your relationships, start trying to ask open ended questions that lead them to talking about Jesus. I am trying to weave this question into all my conversations, “How is your relationship with Jesus?” Then let them talk. If that is too bold, you can re-post. Work on your relationship with Jesus, read your Bible and pray. But don’t keep that relationship to yourself, share Jesus right where you are, in whatever ways you can. Sin is growing, the answer, the ONLY answer, to sin- is Jesus. The world needs more Jesus. Help spread the word-you have a part to play in this great drama of life. Time to get rolling with it!
