Sermon from Pastor Brian Peart
Not A Fan
Message overview
About this message
This video presents a heartfelt message delivered in a church setting, centered on the difference between being a fan and a true follower of Jesus Christ. The speaker, reflecting on personal experiences and lessons from influential books about the Holy Spirit, challenges churchgoers to examine whether their faith is active and transformative outside of Sunday services.
He highlights the pitfalls of merely admiring Jesus rather than living as genuine disciples, using multiple passages from the Bible to urge listeners to pursue a deeper, more committed relationship with Christ. The speaker encourages believers to rely on the Holy Spirit, use the Bible as a spiritual weapon, and ensure their lives bear fruit by actively sharing Jesus in their daily walk.
The message is a call to self-examination, endurance, and spiritual discipline, emphasizing the urgency of living authentically for Christ in a society that often dilutes the gospel.

Sermon transcript
What a blessing it it is to be here. Um I'm Hey, since I walked in, I got this is my kind of church right here. I mean, I I it's like a uh a setting in inside of somebody's house where people you just like a Bible study. And then and to me, we need to get back to Bible study.
Um Just like brother said, I mean, many years ago, um got my God got my attention. Um I guess I guess being a baseball player, I I read a book called Not a Fan. And I mean, it just sparked my my interest. I'm thinking, what?
Not a fan? And uh I I And that's that's the kind of like the title of my my message in these in in today's uh whenever I get to speak because um I think in in the reason I'm going to be kind of like stepping on toes and challenging people because many years ago, I read two books on the Holy Spirit, and God got my attention. So, when I started allowing the spirit of God to help me apply the word of God to my life, he says, I want you to go to churches and wake them up.
I want you to I want you to challenge the hearts and lifestyles of all church goers. I go, you're crazy. I go, not me. But the more I read this book right here, and then I look out in today's churches and society, I I'm just telling you.
And I and I it's it's sad, but most families away from the church never mention what Jesus is doing in their life. And I mean, in in in in my my own family. And they and and they don't like We don't like to be challenged, but I mean we're we've approached the finish line. When you look out into today's world with digital ID and and one world religion and and where we're I mean Jesus is playing no no role in in today's society outside of church activities.
I mean we we've almost like turned him into a 911 call. And that's what I I want I want to talk about today the definition of a of a fan is an enthusiastic admirer. We have 99% of the churches are enthusiastic admirers of Jesus. And I and I think it's it might be because our preachers are more concerned nothing I mean hopefully I'm not talking about your preacher, but but our preachers are more concerned with filled in con- I mean the the p- pews and the chairs than the sending out disciples to be disciples.
And I mean uh If you can look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself am I a fan of Jesus or am am I a follower of Jesus that's in the game? Because Jesus didn't come to to give us a a hope and and not play a role in who we are. He came to down a cross to in in show us he had power over death and and and be resurrected from the dead to get to transform us into it's a little little Christ. Our mission should be his mission.
And I just don't see that in in in today's today's society. I mean, I mean, I we were talking about earlier what kind of church I go to. I mean, it's it has 26 campuses. It's in It's in every correctional facility in Alabama and Georgia.
And and I and and I love 98% of it. But the 2% I I I don't like is the watered-down version how they present the gospel. Because the people that I I I church with, I sit with, I I I do Bible study with, there's nothing there. Half my life I I I grew up in a big Baptist church in in in in Birmingham.
Half my life I was taught you you raise your hand, you invite Jesus into your life, repeat a prayer, get baptized. I'm on the I'm on the softball team, I'm on the basketball team at the church. But but I was never taught what a disciple of Jesus Christ really looked like. And and it wasn't it wasn't until I love I love going to Bible studies.
I love going to chapels and and I love me I even love going to church. But until one day it was during the season we it was during spring training we had a we had a chapel service and I was walking out and this other guy knew who I was and he goes, "Man, you're a Christian?" I go, "Yeah." And he goes, "Man, tell me what Jesus is doing in your life."
And I'm thinking, "I mean, other than going to church?" And uh he goes, "No, no, no, no. Not Forget the church. Outside the church.
Give me Give me Tell me what he's doing." I'm thinking, and I sat there and I had nothing for him. And I sat I mean, 2 weeks. I mean, I was just thinking I couldn't get that out of my mind.
I mean, it was like somebody slapped me right on the forehead like and uh uh I was in a Barnes and cuz I love reading Christian books, but I didn't read the Bible. I was in a Barnes & Noble and I'm looking for a good Christian book and I'm looking, looking, looking. And I pick up this book Welcome Holy Spirit. And I'm thinking, Welcome Holy Spirit.
Man, who in the world can write a book on a Holy on on the Holy Spirit 150 pages thick. I go, I ain't reading no book on the Holy Spirit. I want a good book. And I I kept walking.
Different aisle, different section on the other side. I'm thinking, you got to be kidding me. Welcome Holy Spirit again. And I turned around on the back.
I'm thinking, Welcome Holy Spirit. Why not? Buy, go eat lunch, go to the ballpark, play the game, grab my book, on the bus back to the hotel. And I turn the lamp on and I start reading Welcome Holy Spirit about 11:30 at night.
1:30 in at night, I finished the book. And I'm thinking, I mean, what? I mean, I've grown up in my in church my whole life. I I believe in God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, but nobody's explained to me the role and the power of the Holy Spirit.
And I was mad. Turn the lamp off, went to sleep, back to that Barnes & Noble, I'm getting me another book on the Holy Spirit. And I pick up this book, Good Morning, Holy Spirit. And I'm same thing.
Play the game. I'm running back to the bus. I'm going to think get I'm going to turn that I finished that book and the tear was running down my face. And I go, oh my goodness.
We're living in a society where 99. 9% of today's church goers have become lost. Because we're ignorant of what the Bible says. We're ignorant of of the power that God's given us.
We're trying to live the Christian life on our own. And if we're living on our own, we're definitely ain't going to tell somebody about Jesus. Cuz there's no there's no mission. There's no Two weeks after I was I read those two books on the Holy Spirit, I I started praying every morning, "Good morning, Holy Spirit.
Help me to focus my life on who Jesus Christ truly is. Help me to make him my walk, my talk, and my thoughts." Next morning, "Good morning, Holy Spirit. Help me to focus my life on who Jesus Christ truly is.
Help me to make him my walk, my talk, and my thoughts." 10 days go by, two weeks. One of my one of my my our bullpen catcher that I I I was talking to him about the Holy Spirit out in the bullpen, he's walking across the clubhouse with two books in his hand. And he walks up, he goes, "Hey, um John Corson is a pastor out in Los Angeles.
He sent me two commentaries on the New Testament. You want one?" I'm thinking, "Give it to me." I go, "I didn't want to read the Bible."
I go, "But but it Hey, if you're if you allow if you ask the Holy Spirit for help, his number one objective, you read the Bible." And uh and so, I started I started reading the Bible the New Testament of the Bible. I read it over and over. I read it about seven or eight times, 10 times probably.
And and and and Holy Spirit is going, "You're ready for the Old Testament now. And I mean and that's that's when I get excited. And and and and and I've seen especially when I go into a I started doing jail ministry. And I I walk into a jail and I'll go hey I got guys my name's Chris Hammond.
I played 18 years 18 years of professional baseball. I played for the Braves, the Yankees, the Red Sox, Reds, Marlins and a and a few other teams. Give me 10 minutes your time I'll give you one of my Braves cards. And the chaplain's standing right here.
Every every guy I don't know 60 guys in a in a cell block were running down the steps to to to listen. And the chaplain's like I mean we got to drive we got to beg people to come over here. They want a Braves card. And I go I go this is this is my ministry.
I made I made I made testimony cards with all 17s that I played with. So if I'm up in New York doing doing in a church service or whatever I'm taking my Yankees card. I mean but we live in a sports crazy society that people I don't care who you are. You'll listen to a guy who played major league baseball or NFL or NBA or whatever.
If they got a story I'll hey I'll sit down and listen to it. But but my message today is I want the scripture that I bring up that I want to talk about. I want when it's over I don't want one person to be in here that that will call themself a fan of Jesus. My goal is whenever I speak I want to challenge you guys to know what living as a follower of Jesus Christ really looks like.
Don't fool yourself. And don't take my word for it. Because I want I want I want you guys to to to use this this book right here as the sword that that God's given us. So um Mat- Matthew 6:21 uh says "Wherever your treasure is, the desires of your heart will be there will be there also."
Proverbs 4:23, "Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life." 1 John 5:21, "Keep away from anything that might take the place of God in your heart." Are you Are you You guys under- standing how how important the heart is? What are you guys doing to protect your heart?
We're living in a society that I'm I'm not saying I'm not saying Believe me, when I say 99. 9% I know it it it might not be that much, but there there I know there's people out there that that that read read their Bible as their daily bread every day, like their life depends on it. But I'm just like I I always say 99. 9% cuz I want Bill If Billy Graham was sitting right over there, I want him to go "Is he talking about me?"
Do you know what I'm saying? But we all we all need challenge. We all need motivating. I mean I mean that's why God's word and and God's spirit are so vitally important in in our journey.
Uh Do what? >> John John chapter >> Uh >> It's John 5:21. >> Yeah, 1 John 5:21. Sorry about that.
But uh uh the first the first passage that that that I want us to to really step back and and really listen to uh John 15:1-6. Uh Jesus talking. I am the true great vine and my father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn't produce fruit and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more.
You have already been pruned and purified by the message I have given you. Remain in me and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me. Yes, I am the vine, you are the branches.
Those who remain in me and I in them will produce much fruit for apart from me you can do nothing. Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned. I mean, when when I when I read that after I started praying and asking the Holy Spirit to to to help me focus my life on who Jesus really is.
I mean, that's that's one of those slap on the forehead moments like are you bearing any fruit? When I whenever I ask my family that they They like they don't like hearing that question. And when I started asking a lot of the church goers that I used to I still hang out with and and and even guys today, two two or three four five years ago, they they they remind me, that's the the question that when you ask me that changed my life.
Cuz we we live in a society that we get excited during during this one hour two hours that we're in this building. And I I used to picture my life. I'm thinking, man, that message was good. As soon as I step foot out of this building, I'm drowning in my in my love for what I have to do out there.
And then some And then right after lunch, somebody's like, man, did you go to church? I go, man, that message was good. What was it about? Gosh, it looked good.
That's what I'm talking about. God's given us the Holy Spirit and the Holy Bible that we we can't wait to get out there. Not to not to drown in in the in the love our love for idols and selfish desires to get on the battlefield because we're at the finish line. I don't want anybody that I'm around ever to be able to stand before God and and and God say, what happened?
Luke 9:23 through 26, Jesus says, if any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own life, take up your cross daily, and follow me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. And what do you what do you benefit to gain the whole world but lose your soul?
Is anything more than worth more than your soul? If anyone is is ashamed of me and my message, the Son of Man will be ashamed of that person when he returns in his glory and the glory of his father and his holy angels. I got to speak uh guy I don't I don't know if some of you guys might have heard the the Rick and Bubba Show in Birmingham. Uh Rick Burgess came came to our church during Father's Day.
And uh he he challenged the fathers. He goes during his during his his his message he goes, "Let me challenge you fathers. If you died today and I came to your funeral and I came up to your kids and asked them, 'Tell me about your dad.' What would they tell me?"
And he paused and he said, "If they wouldn't tell me that my dad was a follower of Jesus and he talked about him all the time. He told us and he and he and he taught us the importance of of the gospel you failed. So what and then he goes, "So what I'm challenging you guys to when was the last time that you guys shared Jesus and what he's doing in your life with anybody? Has it been a day?
Two days? Two weeks? Maybe two months? Then he paused for about 10 seconds and he goes, "How about a lot of you never shared it.
You're just a church goer. You just call yourself a Christian and Jesus plays no role in your life. Wow. That was half my life.
Because I didn't read this book. And I wasn't I mean, I don't understand why why churches don't I mean, some 5 minutes out of every service encourage us to to commit to to the Holy Spirit's work in our life and use this Bible as a weapon. I mean, you might you might have people running out of the church during the service. I love uh I love reading Luke 9:23 and then jumping over to Luke 11:23, where Jesus says, "Anyone who isn't with me opposes me.
And anyone who isn't working with me is actually working against me." Oh my goodness. Congregations need to hear that. Cuz of the be- because they're I I I I keep coming back to this because I go, "Once this church service is over, nobody goes out as a disciple."
We love the world so much. And we've been told that we're going to heaven. How many How many of you guys I'm not I You don't have to raise your hand. Just think to yourself.
How many of you guys know that you're going to heaven because of the way you live? Hm. Second Corinthians 11:3 and 4. I fear that somehow your pure and undivided devotion to Christ will be corrupted, just as Eve was deceived by the cunning ways of the serpent.
You happily put up with whatever anyone tells you, even if they preach a different Jesus than the one we preach, or a different kind of spirit than the one you received, or a different kind of gospel than the one you you believed. I was in a swimming pool and this one guy talking talking to him this little group of uh people about Christianity and and he's like, "Yeah." Yeah, I mean, everything he said was like, I mean, I'm I'm sh- I'm shaking my head.
I go, "Do I I mean, should I ease over there and go I mean, where are you getting all this?" And all the this this one lady that I know, she's like, "Yeah, that's what I believe." I'm thinking, Oh no. And then when he left, I I I I asked her.
I go, "Wha- what What gives you the right to believe what he was talking about?" And and she even said, "It sounded good." I saw I saw a thing on Facebook or take whatever. It was a uh a poster and it says, "Satan's biggest tactic something like tactic or whatever is our ignorance of the word of God.
Luke 14:28-30. Jesus says, "But don't begin until you count the cost, for who would begin construction of a building without first calculating the cost to see if there was enough money to finish it. Otherwise, you might complete only the foundation before running out of money, and then everyone would laugh at you. They would say, 'There's the person who started the building and couldn't afford to finish it.'"
What I get out of that He's urging us to count the cost before you start because our lives are more do more harm for the gospel when we say we're a Christian but don't live it. Satan's goal isn't us get it isn't to get us to just reject Jesus. His His goal isn't to keep us from going to church. He don't care that we go to church.
He don't care that we read our Bibles. As long as we keep Jesus inside this church and keep Jesus from when we read the Bible keep that message to ourselves. And if And if Satan was sitting right there in that chair right there do you know what he's doing? He's working.
I don't know when was the last time that I was around anybody outside the church that brought up what Jesus was doing in their life. So, what kind of life what kind of life does compromise in the word of God overflow into us? Let's look Let's look at I got two or three passages that that Hey, sin in itself is not going to keep us from heaven. Sin when allowed to grow in in the in define who we are will.
Um First First Corinthians 9:24 No, wait. First Corinthians 9:24-27. This is a This is a real I mean, I I jumped ahead. I'm I'm sorry about that.
This is This is our mindset that we should wake up to every day. Don't you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So, run to win. All athletes are disciplined in their training.
They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. So, I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadow boxing. I discipline discipline my body like an athlete training it to do what it should.
Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others, I myself might be disqualified. >> Have you ever thought to yourself, what's your first thought when you wake up in the morning? I'm just telling you I mean I'm serious. How about the How about the the the analogy when when when a a disciple of Jesus wakes up and his foot hits the hits the floor, Satan's going, "Oh no, he's awake."
See, does Satan say that any about any of you guys in here? I'm hoping he does. I'm just I'm just I'm the messenger. Um Matthew 24 uh 9 through 13.
Then you will be arrested, persecuted, and killed. You will be hated all over the world because you were my followers. And many will turn away from me and betray and hate each other. And many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.
Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold, but the one who endures to the end will be saved. I mean I'm I'm telling you right now, I mean if he's not talking about today's world, there's Christians being persecuted all over the Hey, America's being taken over. We're We're getting We're getting persecuted for being a Christian. That That guy up in in Michigan, those Muslims were were chasing him chasing him down.
I mean it's coming. I mean we we can fight it all we want, but the Bible says it's coming. Who's ready Who's ready to to to to stand firm and be bold against the the the the hands, feet, and voice, and mission of of Satan? Cuz in my personal opinion, the the the the Muslims bringing in Islam Islam is the hands, feet, and voice of of Satan.
They're going to They're going to introduce the Antichrist to us. And my my my my my wife always talks about, "Oh, yeah, we need to save that for our grand I mean, our grandkids and and maybe their kids." I go I go, "When?" We're not We won't see any We won't see any of that.
And she kind of looks at me like cuz I I say it all the time and she she kind of laughs it off. I'm And I I'm two two, three days ago, we had a a a really heart-to-heart and I go, "I am dead serious." I mean, now is the time, more than any time ever, that we stand up stand firm in our in our relationship with Jesus. His ministry has to be our ministry.
It's not about how much money we have. It's not about how big our house we have or what kind of car we have. Are you a follower of Jesus or not? Are you a fan or are you a follower?
Matthew 7:13 through 15. You can enter God's kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very very narrow and the road is difficult and only a few will find it.
Be beware of false prophets who come disguised as harmless sheep, but are really vicious wolves. Guys, if if if you're not if you're not in a committed relationship with the Holy Spirit, and this book is not the sword that you fight with, who knows? Brian might be a a thinking vicious wolf. Looks like one.
>> [laughter] >> No, I'm I hate I'm I'm Hey, I I want this to be I mean just I mean a a a disciple making disciple uh service. I mean And I want you guys to to to be able to put all your I mean your hope and trust that that this shepherd right here is is going to uh help you stand before God and hear well done.
And so uh What if What if What if we all just stopped right here and asked our self, "Have I been living my life putting my hopes in that morning when I raised my hand to ask Jesus into my life, and I repeated the prayer that the the pastor asked told me to pray, and I got baptized. I'm putting my hope in into that and and and being able to to to be allowed into heaven." >> So here here's here's the part of the service that I started challenging scripture as a mirror for your life. God blesses those James 1:12-16.
God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. After they afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. And remember when you were being tempted, do not say God is tempting me. God is never tempted to do wrong and he never tempts anyone else.
Temptation comes from our own desires which entice us and drags us away. These desires give birth to sinful actions and when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death. Somebody said, "How can a loving God send send somebody to hell?" And the guy was like, "No, no, no, no, no.
God does not send anyone to hell. He just grants you your choice." I mean, when that when I heard that I was thinking, "Oh, that's I mean, that's what I'm talking about." I mean, everybody has a past, but everybody has a a a choice to what's your next step.
And God's given us the two things, the Holy Spirit and the Holy Bible to win. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10. Don't you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the kingdom of God. Don't fool yourselves.
Those who indulge in sexual sin or who worship idols or commit adultery or male male prostitutes or practice homosexuality or thieves or greedy people, or drunkards, or abusive, or cheat people. None of these will inherit the kingdom of God. Then it says in Galatians 5:19-21, "When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility quarreling jealously outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension division envy drunkenness wild parties, and other sins like these.
Let me tell you again, like I have before, anyone living that kind of life will not inherit the kingdom of God." And then And then the verses after that, "But when you're guided by the Holy Spirit, this life, joy, peace, love happiness faithfulness gentleness, there's no law against that." So, you back up when you're brushing your teeth tonight, look in the mirror. What is God telling you that he's seeing?
And Not Not what you see. Are you a fan of Jesus, or you a follower of Jesus? James 1:19- 24. "Under- Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters.
You must be You You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires. So, get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your souls for it has the power to save your souls. But don't just listen to God's word, you must do what it says.
Otherwise, you're only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don't obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. I mean, is that a Is that That's a perfect analogy.
Are you reading the word of God for it to become your overflow? Or has this become your God? This is a powerful thing. I use it I use it as my weapon every single day.
But I don't sit around and and and and let the world see that I'm I'm on phone, even if I'm doing God's work on my phone. I don't want I don't want to be a stumbling block to anybody. But this phone This thing right here is a is a tactic of of Satan. And I'm not I mean, I One little thing that I that then we can laugh at, but it might not be a laughable moment.
But my my my kids and my my wife are like, "Oh man, you need to get a iPhone." I go, "I will never get a iPhone." "Why?" I go, "Well, if If the company would have had a an Apple, I would have get a iPhone.
But they had an eye that on it. James 15, I mean, John 15:26-27, and then the first verse in in uh in chapter 16 verse 1. But I will send you an advocate, the spirit of truth. He will come to you from the Father, and he will testify all about me.
And you must also testify about me because you have been with me from the beginning of my ministry. I told you all these things so you won't abandon your faith. John 6:63 For it's the spirit of God who gives eternal life. When I read that, I'm thinking I've never read that verse.
Or if I did, I just went through it, but it's the Holy Spirit who gives eternal life. John 6:63 So when we when we really kind of like step back and kind of look at that verse, Jesus Christ is eternal life. It's the Holy Spirit's work to help us rid of the sin in our lives, to to take the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God, and to fight Satan [snorts] so we can stand firm against all the strategies of the devil.
So in saying that, the next passage is is is a passage that we need to read at least once a week. Ephesians 6:10-18 Is everybody familiar with that passage? And a final word, be strong in the Lord and in in his mighty power. Put on all of God's armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all the strategies of the devil.
For we are not fighting against flesh and blood enemies, but against rulers, evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God's armor so you'll be able to stick to resist the enemy in the times of evil. Then after the battle, you will be standing firm. Stand your ground putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God's righteousness.
For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the good news so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the spirit at all at all times and on every occasion.
Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere. Put on every piece of God helmet, breastplate shield belt shoes sword. How many of you guys are putting on any of it? That's not That mean that that That's the one thing that I If I had 10 minutes to talk to somebody at throughout my day, I'm going to bring up the importance of allowing the spirit to use the sword.
How big is your sword? How How How How strong is your knowledge of the New Testament of the Bible? Guys, if I had a If I had three The last passage I'm going to tell I'm going to I'm going to I'm going to bring up and then we'll we'll we'll we'll come to a close. If I had three three verses in the Bible that I could build my my relationship with Jesus Christ on being powered by the Holy Spirit and have a hunger for the Bible, it would be Colossians 2:6-8.
Colossians 2:6-8. And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him and let your lives be built on him. Then you will grow strong in the truth that you were taught and you will overflow with thankfulness.
Don't let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and and from the spiritual powers of this world rather than from Christ. That's our journey. Growing in in Jesus, overflowing in Jesus, and telling people about Jesus. And not being deceived by whatever this church says or or whatever this whatever says or whatever that That guy I mean he wears Jesus shirts and he's he's got a great message.
No, it's it's a watered-down version. I call it the the American gospel. >> I mean that I'm I'm I'm I'm telling you. I mean it It's sad because America goes on more mission trips to other countries.
I mean I I heard a I heard a a missionary over in Africa that we used to go over there taking the the real gospel to them. And and he goes, "We need to come back to America and and bring it back to you." Cuz you guys you guys are you guys are doing it all wrong. Jesus is not the Lord of y'all's country.
You you're you got you're too busy. You don't you don't worship the Jesus we worship. Let me pray for y'all. Father God, what a blessing to to walk through those doors when I walked in here with Brian and and seeing uh uh this church.
I could feel your presence. I could I could see it. I could see um and just talking to the people that that are are sitting in in these chairs. Just hearing their hearts and their mission.
And I'm I'm excited to see where this church is going to go and and and and and being uh your handiwork in in in building your kingdom. Um I just I hope what what you had um for me to speak this morning um really encouraged us and um if if the some of them need challenge, I hope it challenged them. Um We just we need more disciples of Jesus out in in in America today. Uh the darkness is is coming.
And I just want everybody to be be prepared. Live or die, we're all going to stand before you and I pray that everybody listening, I mean, in in this congregation right here, is going to hear well done. And uh and I just pray that they uh if you're struggling reading the Bible or struggling in your in your walk with Christ and and you don't know the Holy Spirit, uh start praying that prayer, "Good morning, Holy Spirit. Help me to focus my life on who Jesus Christ truly is.
Help me to make him my walk, my talk, and my thoughts." And listen to him. Father, I pray these things in Jesus' name. Amen.
