Hey guys, Pastor Brian Pear here and today we're going to talk about positioning. Okay, we're going to go to the great commission which is in Matthew 28 18-20. Um this is Jesus speaking here. He's already um died, crucified, buried, rose again, and he's come back to visit his disciples.
And these are the last words he says in the book of Matthew to them. Okay? And and and I'm going to read now. This is Jesus speaking.
All authority has been given to me in heaven and in earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you. And lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. So, he's commissioning us here.
He's giving us he's he's stating that he has all authority and he's commissioning us to go and and do and and then he says he'll be with us always. Okay. Now, when you commission someone, do you commission a stranger or do you commission someone you know and trust? It's always someone that you know and trust.
Okay? So, so the works actually flow from the relationship. We've got to have that relationship with Jesus and we've got to have it right and and that will allow his love to flow through us into others and and we're in sync with the Lord. Okay.
Um, so if you're out there and, you know, running around like crazy and and and you wake up worrying about this and worrying about the kids or the money or the economy or or any of these things, my question for you is, how much time are you actually spending with Jesus? Or are you letting the cares of the world kind of get you off track, okay? Because it says in Galatians 5:22 through 23 that the fruits of the spirit are love, joy, peace, longsuffering, etc. Okay?
We all long for love, joy, peace, right? It's more valuable than money. And yet and yet it it it's note here. It's the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
You can't manufacture fruit. It has to be planted, sown, watered, etc. And it takes time to yield that fruit. Okay?
That fruit of the Holy Spirit is yielded from a person who spends time with Jesus Christ. Okay? And the Holy Spirit working to grow you. Okay?
We need to spend time on our knees. We needed to spend time in this in this beautiful word here. We need to spend time with Jesus so that we can allow his relationship to grow. The power position for a Christian is on our knees.
Okay? That's where the power and authority comes from. So, so I ask you today, how is your relationship with Jesus? Okay?
Are you spending the time with him that you should? Okay? Are you a and if not, I want to challenge you this week to spend a little more time with him. Maybe wake up 10 minutes early.
um and and read a little read a proverb. Okay? Maybe instead of listening to to music on the way, you switch it to Christian music or you listen to a podcast like the Great Awareness Podcast, for example. Okay?
Um but but spending more time with him and um getting that relationship stronger will begin to not only yield you more fruit, but it'll begin to keep up be begin to bring peace and a little bit more sanity into your life. So So again, I want to challenge you this week to spend time with Jesus. Make it a point to try to spend more time with Jesus. and you will watch as more fruit grows into your life and and you'll feel more full and um you're going to have a lot more enjoyment in life.
Okay. Um so, three weeks from now, our church is launching. I can't wait for it. It's exciting.

Okay. I'm still putting uh God's given me the the message, but I'm still putting together how the music's going to look and everything else. I have no idea how this is all going to play out. And that's kind of the fun of it is it's uh we're going to see just what God wants to do in this thing.
But but I know I know he's given me a message and I know it's going to be an amazing time with a lot of wonderful people there because you're going to be there. That's what I'm hoping for. So, um, hope to see you there August 3rd, Sunday, 10:30, um, Lawrenceville, Georgia. And until I see you there, just remember Jesus loves you and there's nothing you can do about
