Hey guys, Pastor Brian here. Today we're going to talk about getting ready for the master's coming. Okay, when I go out and about and I talk to other Christians, a lot of times I'm hearing, "Hey, Jesus is coming soon." It's it's growing in the numbers of Christians that are believing that.
And so the question I I I always come to is, well, what difference is that making in your life? Okay. Like if if someone dignitary was coming over for dinner, you would straighten up the house, right? Like if Trump was coming for dinner or something, you you'd straighten up the house.
If um this is a master of the universe coming, what are we doing to get ready? Um I I saw a statistic the other day that was amazing to me. The average American, and there's very little difference between Christians and non-Christians when it comes to what we buy, what we watch, etc. Unfortunately, there's not a big difference there.
The average uh person in America is online 7 and a half hours a day with reals, Tik Toks, streaming, social media. Seven and a half hours a day. Um that's like a whole workday. Okay.
So, we're gonna we're going to like we always do, we want to focus on scripture. I want to I want to um go to 1 Corinthians 31 12-15. And we're going to drill from that into something that I think is is really important for us to understand. Okay.
So, here I am. 1 Corinthians 3:12. Now, if anyone builds on this foundation, that foundation is Jesus Christ. On that foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, and straw, each one's work will become clear, for the day will declare it because it will be revealed by fire.
And the fire will test each one's work of what sort it is. If anyone's work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone's work is burned, he will suffer loss. But he himself will be saved yet as through fire.
So this isn't about salvation. Okay? You've already got that settled if you ask Jesus into your heart. This is about rewards.
And it says here, suffering um or you know or loss. And what that is is the things we do good in the body, we're going to get rewarded for it. and the times we wasted, the things that we we we spent doing things that don't add value to the kingdom, God's going to show us what his plan was for us during those times. And and and we'll suffer as if by loss.
We'll see what could have been and we and we'll we'll suffer as if by loss. Okay? So, you got to remember something. God still has a plan for your life.
Okay? I don't care how old you are. I don't care where you're at in the situation. God has a plan for you.
And it's a plan to prosper you, not to harm you. Okay? But but the key is we've got to spend time with him. Okay?
The the the foundation up here that that we talk about in Corinthians is Jesus Christ. The works flow from that from that love. Okay? It's not the other way around.
The love comes first and then that flows into the works. Okay? If if you're watching reals and Tik Tok and all that other stuff for seven and a half hours and you're sleeping eight hours and you're working eight hours, how much time is left for Jesus? I mean, like none.
That's the whole day. So, the number one reason people escape, and that's really what it is. It's escaping from the stresses of life, you know, into drugs, alcohol, or or or watching, you know, mindless things to get your mind off of life. The number one reason is fear.
Okay? and and this Sunday, August 3rd, it's going to be our first uh launch uh our first day as a church. I'm really excited about it. And God shared a message of fear, overcoming fear that he wants me to share.
And so, there's one big reason for that that is underneath all fear and one big um solution. And we're going to share it. We're going to go over it. It's going to be challenging, but it's going to be uh exciting.
I think it'll motivate you. I think it'll it'll really fire you up. Okay, that's this Sunday, August 3rd, at 10:30 at Creek Drive Lawrenceville Georgia where we're going to launch our first church service. Okay, God is not done with you yet.
It's time. He's coming. Okay? There's there's things he wants to still accomplish in your life, and we don't want to let fear or lethargicness, you know, keep us from that.
Okay. Even if God terries, even if Jesus doesn't come next year, 10 years from now, there's no downside to living as if because you're not guaranteed tomorrow. You could die this weekend. Okay?
And so, you want to be always acting as if the the master is coming because you just don't know when he will. Okay? So, come this Sunday, let's blow through this fear thing, okay? Let's get excited and and uh I'm going to be ready.
Let's let's all get ready uh for what's to come and be excited about as a community. We're going to grow together and uh hopefully that will help change your world around you. Okay. Um again, the address 900 Creek Drive, Lawrenceville, Georgia.
