Sermon transcript
I thank you for [music] the efforts put in by this music uh group here. Lord, I just thank you for all the [music] good servants that are here helping uh with the door, helping with everything. Lord, I pray your hand be on us now [music] on everything I'm about to share on the people here. Lord, I just pray that you will move in this place, Lord, that you will be high and lifted up in Jesus name.
Amen. Let's give these guys a hand of prayer. Huh? They like meet together during the week and practice and all that good stuff, man.
Really? Right. Yeah. All right.
[clears throat] So, it's neat, you know. Um we're we're five months into this thing. Okay. So, we're we're still a new church.
Um I was thinking about it as we're getting set up today. We're in a groove now. We everyone knows their parts and their roles. And now we have three people instead of just me and Gabe.
Um, which is kind of cool. Gabriel. Sorry, Gabriel. Um, I found out today he doesn't like to be called Gabe because it takes the the God part out of the ending of his name.
I've been calling him Gabe like all year. So, um, [clears throat] anyway, so we're here now and we've got this great little family vibe going and I I've grown to love everyone that's here. Um, I really do. I love you guys a lot.
Um, and if you love someone, you're going to you're going to and you see danger coming, you're going to tell them, okay? That's just what you do. Um, I was called to start this church in March of last year, and uh, God gave me a specific purpose and a specific calling, okay? And it was to prepare the bride for the coming of the king.
Um, he gave me a vision back in 2018, which um, I'll share with you a little bit later into this thing. But um at the end of the day to me it's pretty simple. This book is truth right here. Okay.
This it's either been fulfilled already or it's going to be fulfilled. Okay. Where this book says jump to the left, I jump to the left. When it says jump to the right, I jump to the right.
Okay. To me, it's pretty simple. And when we read it, it's not hard to understand to me. And either that's something that that's just me or I think people might come to the Bible with preconceived notions of what they want to see and what they want to hear.
And we should go to this thing and just actually see what we're reading and and listen to it. So there were over a thousand prophecies about Jesus and his first coming. Okay? I'm going to share some of them with you because they they play into what I'm going to be talking about because there's also hundreds of prophecies about his second coming.
Okay? and and it's coming. So, [clears throat] starting in Psalm 22:14-18, this is an amazing passage of scripture. Everyone knows Psalm 23.
You know, the Lord the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. But Psalm 22 is a rocking psalm because this describes um crucifixion hundreds of years before crucifixion was even invented. Okay. So, what he's talking about here about when you're up there and your your heart feels like it's melting and your bone you're hanging there.
Your bones aren't broken, but they're hanging there. They're all out of joint and everything else like that. That's describing crucifixion. It didn't even exist at this time.
Okay. So, I'm going to read for you because this is crazy. Um Psalm 22:14, I am poured out like water. Remember when they stuck the spear in him and the water came out of the side?
Because that's what happens when you exfate ex you know the word. Um, so I'm poured out like water. All my bones are out of joint. My heart is like wax.
It has melted within me. My strength is dried up like a potur. And my tongue clings to my jaws. You remember how thirsty he was?
And they had to bring a little um sponge of water, you know. Well, it was really vinegar or something. And he was just so thirsty. Um, you have brought me to the dust of death for dogs have surrounded me.
The congregation of the wicked has enclosed me. They pierced my hands and my feet. Again, crucifixion hadn't been invented yet. They pierced my hands and my feet.
They look and stare uh uh I can count all my bones. They look and stare at me. And again, his bones were never broken, right? They can count all my bones.
They look and stare at me. They divide my garments among them and for my clothing they cast lots. That actually happened at the foot, right? Amazing.
Or Isaiah 53, which to me is is an an amazing piece of scripture. Um, and again, this is prophecying a a a coming king who actually dies for his people's sin. Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant and as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comliness. And when we see him, there's no beauty that we should desire him. you know, um, they used to always have when they portrayed Jesus, he was always this, you know, blunt, brown hair, blue-eyed, you know, Americanl looking guy, just good-looking, you know, American looking guy.
That's not what Jesus looked like, okay? He looked like a normal Middle Eastern guy. There was nothing about him that would make people say, "Oh, I got to follow him. He's so beautiful."
Okay? So, again, that's talking about him, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from him. He was despised, and we did not esteem him.
Remember everyone as he started getting crucified. Everyone ran away from him. Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows. Yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God and afflicted.
But he was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement of our peace was upon him and by his stripes we are healed. The great, you know, healing passage right there.
All we like sheep have gone astray. We've turned everyone to his own way. And the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed and he was afflicted yet he opened not his mouth.
Remember as they were beating him, he never said anything, right? He he stayed quiet as a sheep before its sheerers is silent. So he opened not his mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment.
Who will declare his generation? For he was cut off from the land of the living. For the transgressions of my people he was stricken. And they made his grave with the wicked but with the rich at his death.
Remember Joseph of Arama gave him his tomb. He was a rich guy. So he he he was in a rich person's tomb because he had done no violence nor was any deceit in his mouth. Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him.
So that's that's a prophecy of him taking upon our sins. Okay. But there's lots of smaller prophecies like Zechariah 9:9. Um rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion.
Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem. Behold, your king is coming to you. He is just and having salvation. lowly and riding on a donkey.
Is that up there? Yeah. On the uh a colt, the full of a donkey. Remember Jesus came into Jerusalem riding on a donkey, right?
All of these are things hundreds if not thousand years before he comes talking about things that he matched all of them. Or Micah [snorts] 5:2. But you Bethlehem Ephereth, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall come forth to me the one to be the ruler in Israel. Now that's interesting, okay?
Because Joseph didn't live in Bethlehem. He was living in Nazareth, okay? He was called a Naz Jesus was called a Nazarene. That's another prophecy that he he fulfilled that year.
August Caesar Caesar Augustus declared a census and everyone had to go to their hometown. That's why Joseph had to grab Mary and they had to go to Bethlehem. Okay? If Jesus would have been born one year earlier, this prophecy would not have come true.
Or if he was born one year later, he this prophecy wouldn't have come true. God so ordains all of the things to to to and he's so precise that when it's time for something to happen, it's the right time and it meshes all the prophecy. Okay. Um it's it's they say it's incalculable to you gather all the things that Jesus fulfilled at his first coming.
It's imp it's numerically impossible for any individual to kind of navigate that. Okay. Even the star in the sky that happened. How do you navigate that if you're trying to fake something, right?
They say it's almost impossible. Well, I want to take you to another passage that I don't think has been fulfilled yet. Hosea 6 1 and two. So, this one's a neat verse.
Come and let us return to the Lord, for he is torn, but he will heal us. He was stricken, but he will bind us up. After two days, he will revive us. On the third day, he will raise us up that we may live in his sight.
Okay? Now, you could say that's the first time when he came and he crucified and he died and he rose again. But he rose again and then he went to be seated at the right hand of the father. He didn't bring us up with him.
We're still here. Okay. And so in scripture, a day is either one of two things. It's either a 24-hour day.
Most of the time, that's what it is. Okay. But there are some passages of scripture that talk about a day being a thousand years. Okay.
Uh Psalm 94, it says, "For a thousand years in your sight are like yesterday when it has passed." So a thousand years is like one day to God. Okay? Or second Peter 3:8 where it says, "A day to you, God.
A day is like a thousand years and a thousand years is like a day. Okay? There's no other unit for a day in scriptures. There's nowhere it says a day equals a week.
A day equals 2500 years. It's either a day or it's a thousand years. Okay. In 2018, I'm reading that second Peter verse.
It's still up there. Yeah, I'm reading that. And so understand when I got called to preach, I was licensed to preach 20 years ago, but I I don't I still feel it's weird when someone calls me pastor. I It's just weird to me because I I don't feel like I'm a pastor.
Okay. What I am is a guy who every day since the early 2000s spent two hours a day reading scripture, studying scripture. I just studied it, man. I just it was so fun to read and study.
Okay. And when you do that, God will share things with you. You'll get insights into your specific day. You'll get insight into other things.
And in 2018, God shared something with me that I never seen anywhere else. I was reading a day is like a thousand years and thousand years a day. And God pressed in on me hard that two days in the grave, 2,000 years. One day resurrected, another thousand years.
And I knew from my study of Revelation that God sets up a thousand-year reign on this planet. That's the third day. Which means that from his time of crucifixion to the time of his coming is 2,000 years. Okay, this was 2018 when I got that vision and I just kind of left it alone because one, it's a ways off.
Okay, and two, I don't want to be the guy out there saying something and then, you know, looking like a fool, right? And it doesn't come true. And then you're one of those those cuckoo, right? But but then I came across this in Hosea.
All right? And it says the same darn thing. It says, "In two days, he will come to us and revive us. And on the third day, he'll lift us up so that we may live in his sight."
The millennial reign, we're going to discuss it in a minute. I'm going to go through the millennial reign with you guys. But the millennial reign is a thousand years on this planet, Jesus ruling. Okay?
not not Putin, not not not uh Chi, not Trump, Jesus ruling. Okay? And so that's a time that's coming. All right?
But so is the tribulation period. If most scholars have 33 AD is when Jesus uh was crucified, okay? When they go to records and everything else, 33 AD is the consensus time. 2,000 years after that is 2033.
Okay? If the tribulation period is seven years and 2033 is when he's coming back, then 2026 is the start of the tribulation period. What year is it today? It's 2026.
Okay. Now, you might say, Brian, well, but look, look around us and see what's happening. This is called the Great Awareness Church because we're supposed to be looking around with eyes, biblical eyes at what's happening. Okay?
[sighs] There is war in Israel, all around Israel. Okay? There's war that started I believe World War II started when Putin attacked Ukraine. Okay.
[snorts] Um I believe that that is a eight year that World War II is going to last eight years. It's going to end in 2030. Okay. But just took over Venezuela.
Okay. We're we're grabbing tankers. We're um talking about getting green land as well. We're beginning to attack.
Right. And I'm not I'm not I'm not downing Trump. I'm not downing anything. All I'm saying is look at what's actually happening.
Okay? And let's see. All right? There's riots in Iran.
All right? There's there's things that are happening in the world. And as they see us take over Venezuela, they're not sitting there in China saying, "Oh, that Trump, he's such a silly goose." And no, they're getting ready, all right, to they're getting ready, all right, the time has come.
Um, and it's about to happen. When exactly, I don't know, but it is about to happen. Um, and even domestically, okay, President Trump has until November before the midterm elections. He's pushing his agenda hard, which he needs to, right?
And and I'm not against him for doing that. But the more he pushes, the more the left gets gets angry, right? And there's a civil war brewing that's almost brewing. We can hide our heads and pretend it's not coming.
But I would rather see a tornado coming and get out of its way. Grab my people and say, "Hey, let's come over here and let the thing pass us by." Okay? I would rather be ready for the thing that's coming.
All right? And [laughter] it's uh it's not all bad though. All right, I'm gonna share some good stuff with you in a minute. But [sighs] but there is a time when it comes.
This verse in Hosea, two days after his resurrection, when he went after he went up, he didn't come back two days later. It would have to be 2,000 years. If he doesn't come back in the next year or so, or I mean, if the tribulation period doesn't start in the next year or so, then either we had the date wrong on 33 AD or or this prophecy is not going to come true since everything in this Bible is going to come true. It's going to happen.
It's soon. It's right around the corner and it's here. And and we need to be ready for it as a church. I was called to get people ready for it and I need to do it.
You may say, "Well, Brian, no one knows the place or the hour and or the day or the hour." And I know that. But if we look at that passage in Matthew, okay, what Jesus said, we have to understand we'll know when it's close. Okay?
I'm going to read it for you now. Matthew 24:25, we've talked about it's the Oliv discourse. Okay? His disciples come to him.
What's going to happen at the end? And Jesus tells him. And so he's describing all these things that are going to happen. Okay.
And and then in in verse 32, now he's been describing all this stuff. And then he says, "Now learn this parable from the fig tree. When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So you also when you see all these things, know that it is near at the doors.
Assuredly I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things pass away." There's a lot of debate over that, right? I'm going to get to that in a minute. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away.
But of that day and hour, no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but my father only. So he's very clearly says, "No one knows the day or the hour." But he says, "We're going to know when it's close, and we need to be ready." Not only that, he says, and this this is hotly debated, but it's pretty clear if you read it.
So see, to me, just read this stuff. How does it read? Okay, he's describing all this bad stuff. And then he says, "Assuredly say to you, this generation, what generation?
The generation that sees all this stuff, that's our generation, man. It's here. What generation? Our generation will by no means pass away until all these things happen.
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away. Okay, so Brian, this is a lot of politics. It's a lot of scary, but listen, seven years and then there's a millennial reign. All right, so let's go there and and and discover about this millennial reign what's coming.
Okay? Because it's a great time during that millennial reign. Okay? It's not bad.
But man, listen. During this time, what do we have going for us? We got Jesus, right? This is going to be a time where for us to turn back to Jesus, get that relationship with Jesus, right?
Okay. We have each other and we have Jesus and we can be there for each other and we can build each other up, but we can get ready for it. But it is this stuff is coming, okay? And it's going to happen most likely this year before November, okay?
Probably after April, before November, we're going to see this be period begin. All right? And we can either ignore it or we can get ready for it. And I'm charged with getting us ready for it.
And so that's what I'm going to do. Um, Revelation 19:20,21 is the end of the story. And most people don't get there. They can't.
When people talk about tribulation period, they're always talking about seals and judgments and and they worry about what the dragon means and all this other stuff. But really, at the very end, it's it's pretty clear how it's going to roll. Okay. Um, there's the wedding supper of the lamb.
Jesus comes at the end of 19. Jesus comes um and conquers the Antichrist. In fact, I'll read it. And I know I didn't I didn't put that up there.
I'm sorry. And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and the armies gathered together to make war against him who sat on the horse and against his army. That's Jesus. Then the beast was captured with him and false prophet who worked signs in his presence by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped the image.
They were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. and the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of him which sat on the horse. So Jesus comes, kicks everybody's rear end. Okay?
Sends the antichrist and the prophet to the lake of fire to burn from. And then we get to Revelation 20 and we get the beginning of the thousand-year reign. Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. He laid hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years.
And he cast him into the bottomless deceive the nations no more till a thousand years were finished. But at after these things, he must be released for a little while. Used to always blow me away that God would let him out again uh after a thousand years. But he does and we'll see why in a minute.
[snorts] And I saw the thrones that they sat on them and the judgment was committed command committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the witness to Jesus and for the word of God. So these are all the martyrs who had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. The people who made it through the tribulation period without taking the mark.
And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection.
Over such the second death has no power. But they shall be priests of God and of Christ and shall reign with him a thousand years. So this thousand-y year reign right after the tribulation happens. is the thousand-y year reign happens.
Okay? And it's Jesus reigning on this planet with the martyrs and the people who made it through the tribulation period without taking the mark. Okay? Which is which is now think about this.
There's a lot of prophecies. If you go to Isaiah 2 or Isaiah Isaiah 11 or Isaiah 65, you'll see prophecies of a time when Jesus when the the Lord is ruling and there's peace and the lions will lay down with the lambs and it's it's a very it's a time of peace. The devil's locked up. So there's no devil messing with you.
Okay? It's a time of peace. Although Jesus says we're not in heaven yet at this time. Although Jesus says in heaven there's no marriage or giving in marriage.
I don't see anywhere where that's that may not be allowed in the in the millennial reign. Okay? I I don't see any reference. All I see is a time of peace when he's ruling.
But think about this. If he's ruling, then all those other major powers are gone. And that's only going to happen through a tumultumous time over these next seven years. Okay?
And and and it's going to happen. And then after that, he lets the devil out for for a time. And I'm just we're going to real quick tell you the end of the story. Okay?
So he lets the devil out. The devil gathers around. I guess even though Jesus is reigning, there must be some people who don't like something he's doing. I don't know.
But because the devil's able to gather some people together, okay, and to go and and make war one more time. And it says here, "And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. The devil who deceived them was cast in the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever." And then the great white throne judgment.
Okay? So the great white throne judgment happens after the millennial reign. All right? And the great white throne judgment, if you remember, because we talked about it last week.
I think it was last week, two weeks ago, whenever. Those who accept Jesus in their heart, they're going to heaven. Those who didn't going to hell. This is the end of the story there.
and then a new heaven and a new earth come down. Okay, so that's how it's going to roll at the very end. That time might just be eight years away. Okay, that's kind of amazing when you think about it.
All right, we can sit there and say, "But Brian, it's it's it's has to be years and years away." Look around us at what's happening, guys. Okay, it's time for us to get ready for the coming of the king. It's not time to to to, you know, play around anymore.
I'm not into tickling the ears. I'm not into uh uh five steps to a better marriage out of Ephesians. We're we're we're not going to go there. Okay.
Where I'm going to go is this. How do we get our relationship with Jesus stronger? All right. What if I'm wrong?
If we got a relationship with Jesus stronger, is there anything any downside to that? There's no downside, right? So, it's we have Jesus and we have each other. We don't have to be afraid of this time that's coming, but it would be smart to know about it and get serious about what we're called to do.
What are we called to do? Love God and love others. That's what our purpose has to be. And we have to start getting serious about it.
Final exams are coming. It's time to cram. My college students up in the front. It's time to cram.
Okay? It's time for us to get ready for the coming of the king. He is coming. He's coming soon.
Okay? And the world is going to change pretty drastically. People say, "Oh, China would never bomb." They don't have to bomb us.
Okay? They own half of our farmland. Did you know that? China owns half the farmland in this country.
They're the number one makers of illegal fentanyl. They can poison our food supply. Okay, easily they could hit out the electric grid. So there's no electrical.
Okay, they can dump our bonds and crash our our economy because they're the biggest holders of our bonds. All right, without and they can do all that without dropping a bomb. They have more if they team up with Russia and and Iran, they have more foot soldiers, more nukes, and more money, all right, than we do. All right, I know it's it's Oh, man.
America's so strong. No one's going to mess with us. we're messable, especially if we're fighting against each other like we are. It is time to stop fighting.
It is time to stop getting on to people because they're a different denomination. It's time to put all that silliness aside. Think about the silly stuff that we think about during our weeks. Okay?
It doesn't matter if if if [snorts] we're about to get attack, does it matter? Does it matter really what real looks cool that day? And you know, I mean, it just we got to get serious about what what there is important to get serious about, and that's our relationship with Jesus. And that's loving on others, okay?
Loving God, loving others. We've got to do it. It's important. All right?
Because the times are changing. It's time for us to get ready for war. It's time for us to get ready for battle. It's time for us to get battle ready.
All right? We're soldiers. People say, "Oh, I'm a Christian. I'm I'm all about love."
Man, when you become a Christian, you are automatically indoctrinated into war. The devil hates you. You're not This isn't This isn't Candyland, okay? We've been trying to make the Christian world candyland so enough people will come running to us, okay?
But it's not Candyland. And when the stuff goes down, the Candyland people are going to run. But our friends and our family need someone who's calm, someone who understands, who can point them back to Jesus. We need to be the people on the boat helping the women and children off.
We need to be the calm ones when the crisis comes because when the crisis starts coming, people are going to freak out. And we need to be the ones calm with the answer saying, "Hey man, this was all foretold. This Bible said this was going to happen. Here we go.
Let's focus on Jesus. Focus on Jesus and focus on loving each other. We have Jesus to help us through it. We have each other to be with each other.
I'll be here That's what I've been called to do. All right. So, as Gabriel and Kelsey and Juan come on up, um I want you to think for a minute. What if it does start?
Now, what if within the next few months, the tribulation period starts? I'm going to go through over future weeks exactly what that looks like, what we need to do, etc. But what if what what things am I worrying about right now that really don't matter in the scheme of things? I'm getting off track.
I'm I'm worrying about stupid stuff that doesn't matter. Okay, I want you to be thinking on those [music] things as they come play. I'll be right I'll be I'll be right there. If you need prayer, if you don't know Jesus, come.
Okay? [music] I'll I'll pray with you and we'll nail that down. Okay? Because Jesus is who will get you through this time.
It's going to be an amazing time actually, [music] okay? Because persecution always brings out much stronger saints, okay? So, be in prayer about that. Be thinking about that.
[music] Let's enjoy this time of thinking and fellowship and then we'll end up with our [music] kumbaya song. Red.
