Last Sunday was an amazing Sunday for this preacher here. I gave the invitation to come
to the altar and lay it down, and the altar was full! Now some may say that sounds like
some sort of Baptist thing, and those people are judgmental. To which I would say, you
don’t understand what laying it down means…the altar is FREEDOM, not Bondage.
You may have been saved years ago, but there is no doubt you have sinned since then; we
all have. That sin is dirt; it is something that allows the devil to attack you, and it is also
something that kinks up your relationship with God. The Bible says that all sin separates
us from God (Isaiah 59:2). You took a bath once in the blood of Jesus years ago, but
Jesus says taking up the cross is a daily deal(Luke 9:23). Whenever the Holy Spirit convicts you of a sin, repent, lay it down at the foot of the Cross, and let His forgiveness
wash all over you again. And then rise, clean and clear and ready to serve the Savior. You don’t have to get baptized again; you are not getting saved again-you already took care of that, but when you sin, you block the flow of the Spirit, the flow of God. Repenting, laying it down, cleans up the connection and strengthens your walk. After repenting, after being washed clean again, the Devil has no leverage. If he starts messing with you, you can tell him to “get behind you.” You can quote Scripture like, “there is now no condemnation” (Romans 8:1) or “he who is in Christ is a new creation” (2 Corinthians 5:17) and tell him (the devil) to take a hike. Jesus modeled that when Satan attacks, just answer with the Truth of Scripture. Best of all, after repenting and accepting that forgiveness once again, you should be rising in joy. The joy is restored. The altar starts in tears…but it ends in joy.
As the people were coming forward, as people were in their seats with tears in their eyes,
I KNEW that God was moving in their hearts. Only God can cause heart change, not me.
But it is GREAT to see heart change happening, to see God moving, and to know your
efforts are not in vain. It just warmed my soul. Not only that, but we FINALLY had a
child in our childcare, and when I followed up with her father afterward, he said, “My
daughter had such a good time in the childcare that she is demanding we go back again,
so I will be seeing you next Sunday.” She was taught the Ten Commandments, she was
affirmed and loved on, and she called it her “Jesus School”. What a blessing! Our childcare is available for children 12 years old and under; even babies are welcome! We can handle it. It was a BREAKTHROUGH Sunday for our little church, and I feel very
blessed this week. If you are within an hour of Lawrenceville and you are looking for a
